Disney and Tim Burton are eyeing Will Smith to play a part in a live-action adaption of Dumbo.
If he takes the part, he will play the father of the child who grows a companionship with the loveable young elephant, after seeing him at the circus. He also may play opposite to Tom Hanks, who is being given the role of the villain. But Hanks might not be in the film as he may choose instead to star in a World War II inspired drama The Grey Hound.
Another stipulation is that Smith, might not be in the film, as it has been reported that the film's production would be in tandem with Bad Boys For Life, another project of Smith's, which will reteam him with Martin Lawrence with Joe Carnahan directing his script.
The Dumbo adaption will be directed by Tim Burton with a script written by Ehren Kruger, and produced by Justin Springer with Kruger.
Smith has more recently wrapped production on David Ayer's Blight, which will be coming to Netflix in the future.
