ABC Hope That 'Marvel's The Inhumans' And 'Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Can Coalesce

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey wishes that the two shows can co-exist with one another. Speaking to journalists during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, Dungey, shared her hopes for the newcomer series relationship with the veteran Marvel Television series.

"SHIELD is in its fourth season and every year, that show has gotten creatively stronger and better," Dungey said. "It was the first out of the gate for us and with Marvel, and we all have been learning a lot over the four years of that show. What we're doing with Imax is very different, and I think it's going to feel and look very different from what they're doing on Netflix. Hopefully there's a world for me where those shows exist side-by-side on our air and are two different pieces of music that exist together in the same landscape."

The television studio also hopes that, given that the series will premiere in IMAX cinemas, it will bring new audiences for not only this series but also Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and that they will have two successful Marvel series in tandem with one another.

Marvel's The Inhumans will revolve around Black Bolt and the Inhuman royal family, that will be shot with IMAX cameras for the first two episode and then for subsequent action scenes in the series. The series will also not replace the feature film counterpart and is not a spin-off of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. The showrunner for the series is Scott Buck, who has worked with Marvel Television before with Marvel's Iron Fist.
