Zack Snyder Is Planning His Next Move After 'Justice League' With 'The Last Photograph'

Zack Snyder will be doing something different after he is done with Justice League by going into the world of a war-torn Afghanistan.

Snyder is, when Justice League is completed, will divert his attention towards The Last Photograph. The film will be revolving around a war correspondent in Afghanistan who is the only one to survive an attack on a group of Americans. When a special ops soldier in search of a family member shows up, the two team up, with the correspondent hoping to score the story of his life.

The Last Photograph was an idea Snyder made back in the mid-2000's, but since then the rights have lapsed and Gianni Nunnari’s Hollywood Gang is in the process of negotiating a new deal. Snyder developed the story with his friend Kurt Johnstad writing the first script, which will reinvigorated.

The film had Christian Bale and Sean Penn attached but has since then lost them and has no actors attached. Snyder and his wife and producing partner, Deborah Snyder have the first look rights under their production company Cruel and Unusual Films and will reportedly be regenerate the project and approach Warner Bros. with a projected late 2017 shoot date.

Snyder, while still having the intent on directing Justice League 2, had his schedule opened up thanks to Ben Affleck's The Batman pushing back the superhero team sequel. The Last Photograph is a smaller scale film in comparison to Snyder's DC latest features, so he could feasibly make the film and then make Justice League 2.
