Sony And Marvel Studios Set July 2019 Date For 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Sequel

Well it looks like the folks over at Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are extremely confident in their Spider-Man: Homecoming film as they have announced the date of the film's sequel. The second Marvel Cinematic Universe film of the web-slinger will be swinging in theatres July 5th 2019.

The date will be after Marvel Studios' untitled Avengers sequel, which comes out May 3rd, so this Spider-Man sequel will more than likely have Spidey deal with some of the events that occurred in the Avengers sequel.

Sony and Marvel Studio recently released the first two trailers for Homecoming, which you can watch down below.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr., produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige, and written by  Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 7, 2017.
