'Aquaman' To Film Not Only In Australia But Also In Italy Next Year

Italian fans of the DC Extended Universe or of Aquaman, rejoice as you might be able to see some of the character's solo film being made. While it has been confirmed that the film will be shot at the Village Roadshow Studios in Australia, it has now been announced that Warner Bros. and James Wan's production team will also film in Italy.

The mayor of Erice, Giacomo Tranchida, has granted the filming of the solo superhero film. James Wan and his cast and crew will set up shop at the Castle of Venus during the month of September of next year. While Wan did tease us about the film last September of a picture of him in Amalfi Coast, it seems that was to give him an idea of how things should look.

This wouldn't be the first of the DCEU films to go to Italy, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman also had some of its production in Italy too.

Wan recently talked about the film giving us an idea of what it will be, "I kind of don't want to give too much away but know this: The spirit that I'm going for is like a classic sort of swashbuckling action adventure, sort of high seas adventure story. It's ultimately a quest story in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark meets Romancing the Stone."

Jason Momoa plays the titular role, Arthur Curry, he will be joined by Amber Heard as Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko. Aquaman is set for a October 5th, 2018 date directed by James Wan.
