Another day another still from an upcoming DC film, this time for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly we have another photo from the superheroine film.
What is going on in the photo one might ask. Well in this scene Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, is going against her mother, Queen of Themyscira, Hippolyta, and breaks into the armoury of the all-female island; to then take what is seen above a sword, the god killer as it is referred by, before heading off to Europe to fight alongside man.
“This is her moment,” says director Patty Jenkins. “She’s heard all the terrible things about man’s land. But she’s also heard that mankind is in need and under duress. This is her great moment to make the decision to be the one to try and save them.”
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Patty Jenkins, Allan Heinberg, and Geoff Johns, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg.
Wonder Woman is slated for release on June 2, 2017.
