The director of Suicide Squad, David Ayer is staying with DC Films for a while.
Ayer will be pairing up with his Suicide Squad cast-mate, Margot Robbie, again for what has been called Gotham City Sirens. Robbie will not only star as Harley Quinn, but will also be executive producing as well.
The film will also have Geoff Johns and Jon Berg as producing partners per their role over at DC Films. Geneva Robertson-Dworet, a new female writer on the block who has written screenplays for Sherlock Holmes 3 and Tomb Raider, will be the film's writer.
In the comics, the Sirens of Gotham, comprised of many villainesses of DC Comics, most notably are Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman, all three have ties with the Bat of Gotham. Although it is not clear who will be in the film as of now so we will have to wait on some casting news in the future.
The film currently has no date but is being actively developed.
We first saw Harley in Suicide Squad, which will somewhere down the line get a sequel and a spin-off revolving around Will Smith's Deadshot, the famed assassin in the comics and in Gotham. But Sirens is the quickest to get the wheels going in regards to production.
