'Guardians Of the Galaxy: Vol. 2' To Begin Scoring Process

In my mind a score of a film can in some cases make or break it, a good score will make emotions rise a bad one will make scenes feel empty. Luckily for the first Guardians film, I found the score to be the good kind, and hopefully I can say the same again for the sequel.

The sequel, being Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, will commence the scoring process of filmmaking soon as the director, James Gunn, took to Instagram to tease that he will be reteam with Tyler Bates, who worked on the first film, to score the upcoming feature. Gunn also teased the possibility of livestreaming some of the scoring sessions.

So happy to be back in London this week, recording the score for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with Tyler Bates. I'm going to try and broadcast some of the orchestra playing the score on Facebook live (Facebook.com/jgunn). I think it's the finest, most emotional work Tyler has ever done. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is released 28th of April in Ireland & UK, also the 5th of May in the US.
